DPI Check
Before performing the white reference, check DPI by scanning an accurately sized 8.5 x 11 inch sheet of paper. Measure the length of the sheet of paper parallel to the direction of travel in the captured image. Use the measurements provided below in conjunction with the dpi of the associated hardware file to determine if camera module track speeds need to be adjusted. Adjust the track speed accordingly. NOTE: the resulting image size, in the track direction, can be effected by the track speeds of both adjacent track modules to the camera module; no adjustment to camera height is possible.

  300 dpi 200 dpi
8.5 inches 2550 pixels 1700 pixels
11 inches 3300 pixels 2200 pixels

Note: If any motor speeds are changed after the white reference is performed, the white reference procedure must be repeated.

White Reference

White reference is required to be performed at every PM. Before performing a white or black reference make sure the camera glass is clean. The black reference is done under the following conditions; camera change, lamp change (if applicable), following any camera parameter changes, and when directed by ibml. If a black reference is performed a white reference must be performed afterwards. After the white reference is done, check the quality of the image using the white calibration document for consistent brightness over the entire document. Verify there are no streaks or image tone variances over the full camera field of view.
